On Changing the Blog HTML and CSS

I have wanted to change the layout and HTML design of my blog for some while now but I realize that doing so would result in the removal of some of my widgets and links. I may want to make my blog more nice looking but the consequences outweighs the benefits so I would rather stick to my old plain blog design.

A blog friend, Ruthi, had changed her blog HTML design and is recently having some trouble with her PayPerPost tools. It seems that her code was erased when she changed her HTML and she's having some difficulty in re-installing her PPP code.

I really am sad for her because I know how frustrating it is to have very good opportunities from PPP pass by because of her present technical difficulty. I had some suggestions that might help her like adding the code before the /body tag and refreshing the code but I'm no expert at HTML codes so it so sad that I can't really help her.

So to bloggers out there who would want to change how their blogs look, better think twice and be sure that you have a good know-how with these confusing HTML and CSS codes. It would be best if you redesigned your blog when you first started the blog.

Nurstoons

(just click on the images to enlarge)

I just want to share these comic strips about student nurses from Nurstoon.com. They may be insanely funny but they somehow hold some truth. That what makes Nurstoon.com's comic strips very interesting.

As a student nurse I also had and will continue to have many bloopers and interesting experiences and I would really love to share all of them.

So to all of you student nurses never stop dreaming and believing in our selves. Someday we will be registered nurses, I just know it. And if ever we had made some stupid mistakes along the way let's just charge it to experience and try not to make the same mistakes twice. Remember, you never learn unless you make a mistake.

David Archuleta - When You Believe

Ah! It's already Mariah Carey Week on American Idol and David Archuleta has once again pulled it off with a great song! He really picked a perfect and challenging song, When You Believe. And the judges would have to agree with me that David did a great job! Singing a girl's song is very hard, what made the song more challenging was that this song was not sang by any ordinary girls they were sang by two divas, Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston!

Wow is all that I could say! And David is always smiling and this is one great factor why America would vote for him as the American Idol 2008. What makes David a star are the following ingredients... [(smile + lips) x cute factor + amazing voice] = A Certified Star!

I can't wait for him to sell his album and tour the world! Go David! Oh man! I think that I may just have a serious case of ODD! Obsessive David Disorder! Hahaha!

Swimming Safety

Ok this post may not be related to nursing or health (well somehow it is) but it is related to life and death...

Accidents do happen and cases of drowning are the worst accident that could happen. You and your friends are having fun at the beach or in the pool when all of a sudden friend disappears and you find his/her dead body minutes later.

We all have had a near-drowning experience and it is very frightening. We all had tried swimming in deep waters and then our muscles give up or worst we get a cramp. So to prevent incidents of drowning here are some swimming tips:
  1. Always have a buddy system to always check if your partner is doing well and isn't drowning.
  2. Do not swim in deep waters if you do not know how to swim. Use flotation devices if you insist on swimming.
  3. Never swim in a pool without a life guard.
  4. Learn how to float! Floating is a vital skill every swimmer should have because if one has cramps or any muscle weakness one could just float and rest.
I'm no expert at swimming but these are just some tips based on experience that I could share. The floating part saved me from drowning countless of times.

Mac Games and More!

One downside that I find when using a Mac is that it has a small variety and array of games to choose from. I'm quite of a fantasy RPG player so finding Mac games for a gamer like me is quite hard! Good thing there are sites like macgamesandmore.com which offers not only games but freeware and other mac softwares for you to download for free! Yup you heard me, for free!

So if you're a hardcore gamer and has just switched or just bought yourself a great Apple Computer then Miss teri tale for mac and Chuzzle for mac are just some of the games that you could download for free at macgamesandmore.com!
