Shaman King

During the past few days of being jobless I have been keeping myself by watching some good Japanese Animation or anime. I was watching Shaman King, an anime series which I didn't have the chance to finish watching during high school because my life was dedicated to studying back then (ewe... how nerdy hehehe).

Anyway I'm almost finish watching Shaman King and what could I say? It's a great anime! Some people would say that anime are just for kids or it's nonesense but it does have some special messages like do what you must to achieve your goals, but never ever think that it's ok to step on anyone to reach your goals. I know, it's not that inspiring coming from me but watching Shaman King is inspiring for me and it fits the genre of the movies and games that I love watching and playing: fantasy & supernatural.

It is through watching anime that I am released from this world, worrying about nothing. But I do know that I need to face reality, such a troublesome fact.

I ♥ Crunchyroll

I am a known Anime fanatic and I love anime and I am addicted to it. Anime inspires me to dream and to believe that there is something more and greater to this life. Some anime that I have watched and enjoyed are Elfen Lied, Flame of Recca, Erementar Gerad, Vision of Escaflowne, Hunter X Hunter, San Goku, Naruto, xxxHolic, Card Captor Sakura, DNAngel, Detective Conan, and a lot more (I may have even forgotten some titles, damn I have a bad memory). But one thing is for sure, it is very difficult to find these anime titles online. Youtube sucks because they remove it while other online video streaming communities don't have the complete series. So where do I find good quality anime? Simple! Crunchyroll!

Crunchyroll which is sometimes called as the Asian Youtube is a fast growing online community for anime lovers. It was started by the mysterious "Shinji" who started Crunchyroll just for fun.
Crunchyroll has a vast collection of anime (as well as other Asian dramas and movies) for FREE! You just pay if you want to watch a high quality and high definition streaming. And the payment is used to keep the servers running and to give more bandwidth as hosting a site is not free after all.

Like Youtube, Crunchyroll also faced some copyright problems as some of their anime was licensed. But this was already addressed by Crunchyroll so don't expect to find any licensed material (you may still find some videos if you're lucky that are uploaded by some members) and hentai (Anime porn, hehehe). Wait, is hentai even licensed?

But they still have a lot of unlicensed anime that are worth the watch, like Naruto for example.

Naruto Shippuuden - Episode 43

Oh my gosh! Naruto Shippuuden - Episode 43 is out! Can't wait to watch it right now.
Here's a link to the video:

http://www.crunchyroll.com/showmedia?id=253470T

And for those who have no idea what Naruto Shippuuden is here's a little summary:
Naruto Shippuuden is the continuation of the original animated TV series Naruto. The story revolves around an older and slightly more matured Uzumaki Naruto and his quest to save his friend Uchiha Sasuke from the grips of the snake-like Shinobi, Orochimaru. After 2 and a half years Naruto finally returns to his village of Konoha, and sets about putting his ambitions to work, though it will not be easy, as He has amassed a few (more dangerous) enemies, in the likes of the shinobi organization; Akatsuki

It's really fun watching Naruto because you get to imagine what life is for a ninja! Hahaha! But like many anime, they also reflect certain truths about life and human beings. In this anime, Naruto and Gaara are hated and treated as outcasts because they are different. Although the two are very kind they are treated harshly because the people around them fear them because they carry a great power that could destroy their whole village. But it's nice to know that the people around them had a change of heart after both Naruto and Gaara risked their lives for the people who hated them.

Naruto also talks about friendship and how wonderful it is to have at least one person to appreciate your existence.

xxxHolic Review

I really have enjoyed watching xxxHolic. I haven't finished watching the series yet but I could say that it is a work of art. The graphics are excellent and the music is perfect. The combination of the two portrays a perfect world of magic and real life. CLAMP, the producer of the said anime, is really amazing. It really makes you think and your imagination can just run wild.

And who ever said animè isn't educational? Well xxxHolic can prove you wrong. It showcases the rich culture of Japan by embedding in the plot the different legends and myths in Japan. The way of life of Japanese people are shown and their different food, dresses, and customs are shown. It really amazes me how Japan can be so high-tech but they still are able to preserve their own identity, culture, and history.

Also xxxHolic is a perfect place to study philosophy and humanity as it exposes some morals and truths of what truly is being a human being. I will share some learning that I have derived in some of my other posts.

Totally amazing! I really love xxxHOLIC and I am quite inspired when I watch each episode that is full of wisdom and zest.

I rate it with a perfect five out of five! Why don’t you guys watch it and see for yourselves what I’m talking about.

Plot

The series' protagonist, Kimihiro Watanuki, is a high school student who is continually plagued by supernatural monsters (youkai) and spirits which are magically attracted to him. The creatures are invisible to all but him, and as a result he feels extremely burdened by them. When he quite literally stumbles into a shop that grants wishes, his life changes drastically.

Within the shop is the seductively beautiful Yūko Ichihara, a witch of many names and esoteric renown. The seemingly all-knowing witch soon gets down to business: she offers to grant Watanuki's wish to be rid of his ability to see spirits. However, a price equal to the power required to grant the wish must be paid. Yūko discovers that Watanuki is very skilled with his hands and a hard worker. As a result, Watanuki soon finds himself forced to perform housework and odd jobs for Yūko until he has done enough work for his wish to be granted.

Shortly afterwards, other characters become involved with Watanuki's position, including his love interest, Himawari Kunogi, and his "rival", Shizuka Dōmeki. The three become increasingly "friendlier", despite the amount of times Watanuki gets annoyed with Dōmeki's unflappable attitude.

Another recurring theme in the manga storyline is that Watanuki's growth and change will be because of his experiences of meeting one person. Yūko, according to a fortune teller in Volume 2, is the one that will change Watanuki. However, it's implied that he will be linked to both Yūko and Dōmeki and that all their connections were foreseen.

Lilium

Latin

Os iusti meditabitur sapientiam
Et lingua eius loquetur iudicium (Psalms 36:30)
Beatus vir qui suffert tentationem
Quoniam cum probatus fuerit accipiet coronam vitae (James 1:12)
[Kyrie, fons bonitatis]
Kyrie, Ignis Divine, Eleison
[O quam sancta, quam serena, quam benigna
Quam amoena esse virgo creditur.]
O quam sancta, quam serena, quam benigna
Quam amoena O castitatis lilium

Translation

The mouth of the Just shall meditate wisdom
And his tongue shall speak judgement (Psalms 36:30)
Blessed is the man who endureth temptation
For once he hath been proven, he shall receive the crown of life (James 1:12)
[Lord, fountain of holiness.]
Lord, Fire Divine, have mercy
[O how sacred, how serene, how benevolent
How lovely, is this virgin who believeth!]
O how holy, how serene, how benevolent
How lovely, O lily of purity

On Elfen Lied

Damn Elfen Lied is so cool! I just love the blood and the bodies being sliced to pieces! And the plot is pretty good too! Plus it has nudity people, lol. It’s like a twisted love story… with supernatural powers and stuff… This is another classic example of how man’s heartlessness and abuses especially to the people who are tagged as “different” comes back at them with a full blow. I can’t blame the diclonius for killing without mercy after all the torture and emotional trauma they went through… but to know more about Elfen Lied just read this:

The story begins with a naked young girl named Lucy escaping under odd circumstances from an insular research facility off the coast of Kamakura in the Kanagawa Prefecture of Japan. Lucy manages to nonchalantly dismember and slay a fair number of the staff and guards with a form of seemingly supernatural power and gets outside. A sniper is seen trying to shoot her, only managing to ricochet a bullet off her metal helmet. Lucy then falls off a cliff into the sea, bleeding from her head but ultimately surviving and evading the research staff.

Lucy is not a normal human but rather a diclonius: a mutant variant of humans with two small horns on their heads (hence the name diclonius) that resemble cat ears. The diclonius race possesses telekinetic powers through use of their "vectors", invisible arms that they control with a number and length of reach depending on the diclonius.

The day after Lucy's escape, a boy named Kohta arrives at Kamakura to meet his cousin Yuka. Kohta has come to study at the local university and has been given lodging at an old, family-owned inn, the "Maple (, Kaede) Inn", provided he acts as the caretaker. After meeting with Yuka, they go for a visit to the beach and find Lucy washed up on the shore, still naked and bleeding from her head. The head trauma Lucy experienced causes her to develop a split personality. In stark contrast to the cold and sadistic Lucy, this personality is completely docile, harmless and is incapable at first of saying anything other than "Nyū". Not knowing what to do with her, Kohta and Yuka take her back to the inn to look after her and name her "Nyū". Yuka quickly decides that it will be best that she also live at the inn.

Kohta, Nyū, and Yuka begin settling into their life at the inn and Nyū begins to dredge up painful repressed memories from Kohta's past. Meanwhile, the researchers from the laboratory where Lucy was held begin searching for her, dispatching both human and diclonius agents to hunt her down.

Forsaken - A Tribute to DNAngel

I really love DNAngel! It is one of the finest anime out there. The vivid images and intriguing plot makes it one of the best! Here is an AMV in honor of DNAngel. Please take some time to watch it. The video is good and the music surrounds it with such mystery...

Gaara.

In Naruto, I really pity Gaara. He only grew up as a monster because the Hidden Village of Sand’s villagers treated him as one. He’s suffering from psychological problems because of the trauma he encounters daily with the villagers. His father is no good either as his father made him into what he is in the first place, a monster.

If you watch Naruto you would know what I am talking about and maybe feel what I’m feeling. Gaara really wanted to change and he wanted to live in peace with the people. The stupid people didn’t gave him the chance to change so I wouldn’t blame Gaara if he killed all of the villagers and enjoyed watching them die in pain slowly! Hahaha!!!

Detective Conan

CURRENTLYWATCHING...

I haven't started watching this one...It has 81 episodes and I am running out of memory in my harddrive!!! Stupid computer!!! I'm erasing asmuch trash as Ican so that I can accomodate this beauty in to my computer... I have toreturn the DVD tomorrow to once again...the great Jade. Well I party own it...we both do but I'll allow her to keep it because she unselfishly lent me her HunterXHunter: Greed Island DVD (which I haven't returned yet... hehehe...).

So what is Detective Conan all about? Here's a short summary:

Shinichi Kudo is a high school student who, by using observation
and deduction, is good at solving mysteries. While investigating
one, he is caught by the criminals that he was watching and
forced to take an experimental drug. Leaving him for dead, the
criminals disappear. Instead of killing him, however, the drug
turns Shinichi into a little kid. To preserve the illusion of
his 'disappearance', Shinichi adopts a new name based on his
favorite author (Arthur Conan Doyle) and becomes Conan Edogawa.
Ran, his (actually Shinichi's) girlfriend takes this little boy
under her wing and brings him to her home. Conan now lives at a
detective agency run by Ran's father, but his mind is as keen as
ever and he continues to solve mysteries...always allowing Ran's
father to take all the credit. As far as everyone's concerned,
Conan is just a little kid anyway...even to Ran. This is
*extremely* frustrating to Conan since nobody will listen to a
'little boy'. In spite of this, Conan has a mission...to find
the criminals who did this to him and get the antidote to that
drug. This is, first and foremost, a mystery series. Each
episode contains a mystery that Conan has to solve. Unlike a lot
of "kids shows", the solutions aren't always obvious and form
enjoyable brain teasers. To date, I haven't solved any of the
mysteries before Conan yet! :-)
I'm really going to be busy this sem-break watching anime!!! Hmm...but I guess I stil
lhave tocome back toschoolin the middle ofsem-break to serve my 4 hours extension!!! No!

Oh well... that's life...

HunterXHunter: Greed Island

HunterXHunter is simply the best!!!

I want to thank Jade for lending me this DVD! As in it's so nice! I love the story and it just overwhelms me to watch something of great beauty and art! Buhuhu!!!

Here's a short summary so you people won't be Out of Place (OP):

Gon Freecs, a young boy that lives on a small island learns that his father who he doesn't remember is an extremely famous man and has become somewhat of an amazing hunter. Gon takes the hunter exam to seek out his amazing father, but on the way while teaming up with 3 other candidates, Kurapica, Leorio, and Killua, he learns that there is more to becoming a hunter and the challenges that he must face will be beyond his imaginations.

To further his quest to find his father, Gon Freecs and his friend Killua enter the world of Greed Island, a video game which Gon's father helped to create. Once inside the world of the game, Gon and Killua are faced with a combination of new allies and new enemies.

Blah, blah, blah... I urge you to watch it so you'llshare with me the ecstacy of HunterXHunter!!!

DN Angel

I have finally watched DN Angel, the whole series! This is thanks to www.youtube.com and www.keiichianimeforever.com! The story is so cute and the plot becomes deeper and more interesting as the story progresses. I learned from the story that no one deserves to be alone because somewhere out there, there would be someone who would cherish our lives and existence in this world. No one deserves to be lonely because as the saying goes, there is always someone for everyone, just wait for them at the right time and at the right place.

I encourage everyone to watch this anime series. It’s really great!!!

Oh how I wish I could be like Daisuke Niwa who is such a great person. How I wish I was a person with a heart that is pure.

DNAngels Crazy!!!

I can’t believe that I’d fall in love with DNAngel… At first I was only interested in finding a blog template with an angel theme but when I saw Daisukes eyes I instantly fell in love with him, I mean the character. I then googled what DNAngel is about and then I became more interested about the topic.

The art is not only breathtaking but the characters and the plot of the story is perfect! I find my self becoming an anime fanatic once again! DNAngel is just plain cool!

This is one of my favorite Angel related anime... angel Sanctuary. It has a real great plot. What if you fall in love with your sister? And your sister with you? But your actually the reincarnation of an angel trapped in a mortal's body... would you still pursue your love for your sister? Hmm... Which one will you chose? Both of your happiness or pleasing every one else?
Vincent rules!

For the people out there, this is not a yaoi (boy x boy) pic. Daisuke (the red haired boy) and Dark-Mousy (Black Winged Angel) are just one person. The red ribbon binding them signifies this. This is a very high level of art that requires logic to correctly interpret the symbolisms used in this picture... I just wonder why Dark-Mousy's right eye is clossed...

What the Hell is DNangel?

DN Angel is a manga (comic) created by Yukiru Sugisaki. So far there are ten volumes out, an anime, and it runs monthly in ASUKA. Just recently, English translated volumes have been published by Tokyopop. DN Angel is classified as shoujo (girl genre), but it's more of a combination of the two genres. There's not only romance and an emotional story line, but lots of action mixed in. Her artwork has a shounen (boy genre) look to it also.

The story starts off with a 14 year old boy named Daisuke Niwa. Today is his birthday and he finally has enough courage to tell the girl he likes about his feelings. Risa Harada, his crush, though doesn't harbor the same feelings towards him. She promptly tells him that she can't accept his feelings and wishes they could still be friends.

He returns home depressed and heartbroken because of what happened. To make matters worse, he transforms into another person's body. The transformation was triggered by thinking about Risa. Only after the transformation does his family tell them about the Niwa family legacy. This legacy is turning into the legendary phantom thief, Dark-Mousy on their fourteenth birthday. The only way to change back is to steal the St. Maiden's Tears statue, or so they claim. No only that, he finds out that his pet, With, isn't all what he seems. He's actually Dark's partner and serves as his wings.

When trying to get the statue, he meets up with Satoshi Hiwatari, a schoolmate who happens to be the commander in charge of getting Dark. Satoshi pins him to the ground with causes Daisuke to freak out from the prospect of getting caught. This causes a chain reaction which awaken Dark who takes control. They manage to steal the statue and get out unscathed.

Of course this isn't the end for Daisuke. His life only gets more complicated from then on...

Niwa Daisuke. 14 years old, attending Azumano NO.2 Junior High. A pretty normal kid, nice, hard-working, a bit shy around girls.... At least, Daisuke would like to have people believe he's just a normal kid. Even if he couldn't pick locks with a somewhat uneasy skillfulness, or leap over high fences and traverse the obstacle course that is his home, Daisuke would be far from normal. Of course, you probably already know that Daisuke turns into the famous Kaitou thief Dark anyway, so Daisuke's lack of normality is hardly surprising. His mom has been training him up ever since he was a little kid so that he would be ready to enherit that which is the Niwa family "curse" (If you could call turning into a dark-haired bishy with wings a 'curse'...)

But one of Daisuke's big problems is love. That and the fact that one blonde haired-bishy is trying to kill him. He confessed his feeling for Risa, only to get knocked back, and then find out that she's fallen head-over heels for his alter-ego Dark. To make things worse, he starts to like Risa's twin, Riku, and while she does return his feelings, she has less than amicable feelings toward Dark. Ehe, trying to convince her that he and Daisuke are the same person is going to prove a little difficult -_-;... But despite Daisuke's problems he always tries to put on a smile or a brave face, and for all his spiky red-headedness, he's not some hyper genki kid. He has problems and he tries to deal with them as best he can, while not falling into a angsty gloom of despair. In other words, Daisuke is one mature but cute kid~

Hahaha! I took a lot of DNAngels Personality Quizzes and I got the same result! I'm Daisuke !

Grey’s Anatomy and Scrubs… And Pokemon!

One thing that I really enjoy during my summer break is watching my 3 most favorite shows on TV!!! Grey’s Anatomy and Scrubs are two great shows that I really love and they would give me an insight of my future profession. I so love watching these medical comedy/drama shows because they are entertaining and so educational. I feel great after watching these shows because I really am certain that my chosen profession really suites me and is really great!!! Dreams here I come! I really will work hard to attain my goals and I will run-over or kill any one who gets in my way! Grrr!
And of course there is Pokemon! My parents will be sure that I will be at home before 8:00 pm because that is when one of my favorite shows is on. I know that I’m already in college and I am already slightly corrupted by media and stuff but I can’t help it if watching pokemon brings out the inner child in me. I’m not doing wrong by watching Pokemon so let me be! Besides it’s better than watching porn which will just send me straight to hell!
I also love Bones, a detective/crime/forensic/medical series, which by the way is so cool! You see I kind of see my self as a forensic doctor or something someday! It really is so cool to bust the bad guys and make them pay for their sins! If only I had the power to pass judgment on the sinners then I would make them pay for their sins with death! I should really take a little break from my grim angel imagination things. I’ll write more about grim angels on my next post.
