What Every Blogger Needs

You may have already guessed what I am going to blog about today as I have already given you very leading clues at the start of my blog entry. But you must admit that I am really right when I say that Dragon Naturally Speaking is indeed what every blogger needs.
I know that this speech recognition software is indeed a need for every blogger because I am a blogger and one of my reasons why I skip a day (or weeks) of blogging is because I am too lazy to encode. With Dragon Naturally Speaking at my side, it's like having a personal assistant jotting down my every thought and encoding it for me.
MacSpeech Dictate
Ok, this software is not just for lazy people like me. It's most especially suited for people who have to type thousands of words each day. With Dragon Naturally Speaking you could just talk and talk and your encoded work will be ready for printing whenever you're done talking. If you're a novelist or a student writing that 1000 essay, this software can help improve your productivity as you get more words typed in less the time it takes you to type. Dragon Naturally Speaking can literally put into typing your words in 150 words per minute! I can type 40-50 words per minute. But if you think that you can beat the Dragon Naturally Speaking software, then I dare you to take the Dragon’s typing speed test!
Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Preferred
It's really frustrating that I only get to encounter this software now. It would have been better if it already existed when I was back in school having to encode a lot of stuff.

I'm Back! Well Sort of...

After being MIA (Missing in Action) for so many days I've finally returned to my little home in cyberspace to blog about stuff that has been happening to me lately. Well a lot of things have happened since I was last here and I kind of regret not being to blog each one of them after they happened. Now I have to recall what happened the past few weeks and make an entry about them.

Well for starters, I just realized how lazy I am. I'm amazed how quickly time passes by and how many hours I lose by being a couch potato. Yup I just lay there in the couch watching TV and time passes by and I never accomplish anything worthwhile unlike when I am blogging.

Anyway I guess I'd quit this ugly habit of mine of just lying on the couch watching TV. The TV and the couch are not my friend! I should really remember that.

Anyway I'll try to make it a habit to write a post in my blog at least once a day. That's not too hard to accomplish right?

I'm a Triple P Blog of the Day

I never knew that I could get this far as a blogger... (OA ko naman hehehe). I only started blogging to express my feelings and my so called "creativenesss". I started with a free Blogger blog and ended up with my very own domain. And best of all I was able to meet great people such as fellow bloggers and of course Cheryl Brooks. I'm happy that some people can give way from their busy lives to be able to come visit my blog once in a while. It is because of these people that my blog now boasts a PR4 (which is temporary of course) which I had never achieved before.

And I didn't even know that I was a Triple P blog of the day for September 3, 2008. I was blog of the day too for my other blog.

But lately I have been MIA (Missing in Action as Ate Juliana taught me) so I'm afraid that my years of hard work will go down the drain. Anyway it was fun earning money from blogging and stuff but I'd still continue blogging even if it doesn't pay me anymore. I love ranting in cyberspace anyway hehehe.

Why Can't I See My Website?!

Is it me or am I the only one who can't see my own freaking website? The whole world can see it but I can't! I can't open www.EdgarVincentBautista.com. But my friends can and so can my hosting company Technographx. But I can't seem to open my website as well as my web hosting company's website.

If anyone else in this world can't open my website please do tell me, that would really be such a help. Thanks!

Oh yeah, in case you're wondering, I can't access my control panel either. If any one can help me with this problem it would really be appreciated. I've tried flushing the DNS, tampered with the MTU, refreshed, cleared the cache, checked the security settings, but nothing seems to work.

Web Hosting

A lot of people were asking me how I was able to make my own website. Well making a website and designing it and stuff is pretty darn simple. There are thousands of free website templates that anyone can download on the internet. But if you really want to make your very own personal website then the very first thing you must do is find the right web host!

But the thing is there are thousands of web hosts out there and it so hard to find the right one that is really worth your money. And as I have told my friends, I highly recommend web hosting choice.

Unlike any website that reviews and rates web hosting sites, web hosting choice is totally unique as it is a great resource for total newbies and beginners in the world of blogging and website building. So if you have no idea what a host is and you don't understand a thing I'm saying, well web hosting choice is definitely perfect for you! They will give you information to start out and help you find the right web hosting site for you and give you tips on how to check if a site is a scam or not.

M.I.A. & Work

After annoying a certain someone to tell me what she meant by M.I.A. I finally am able to blog again after being Missing In Action (MIA) for so long.

Well not that long, I was able to make the pathetic I'm so depressed and want to kill myself post. Finally, after being given two straight days of vacation (thanks to a co-worker who wanted more hours of work) I am now able to take a break and appreciate the beauty of life with work out of my mind.

After thinking things through I now realize why I had such a nasty breakdown. Well as the saying goes, "If you're too nice, people will step on you", this is true in my case. I don't know why I am able to say no and be awful to my family who I love yet I am able to allow complete strangers to take advantage of me and to step on me. You see I had the power to say NO to my manager but she was nice to me and she needed someone to work at 11 pm to 7 am because no one in their right mind would agree to work alone at night doing everything.

But because of my stupidity I worked 11 pm to 7 am even if it was my day-off and the following day I had to go home at 7 am and go back to work later on at 3 pm to 11 pm. I was truly pissed at myself for being Mr. Kindy Ass. I should have let the answering machine take her call but when she (my manager) called for the second time I picked up thinking it was important, now I truly learned my lesson. I will not pick up the phone if my work is calling for me when I'm on day-off. And if they ask me to work at night the answer would be a definite NO! No more Mr. Nicey Pants.

If you think that I'm over reacting well you are definitely wrong. Did you know that even in my sleep I still dream that I'm still working. And I totally get no rest at all because in my mind I outside my bed room is the store where I work in. I have to remind myself that I am in my bedroom and I am sleeping.

I have sacrificed enough for my work, I don't want to give up my sanity too.

Google's Magic Wand

After my other blog Grim Angel suffered the fate of having it's page rank (PR) demoted from 1 to 0 I pretty much lost my interest in trying to pull the PR up. I guessed that Google must have cursed me for having the "Three Big P's" on my blog and labeling my old blog as a blog mainly used for blatant advertising. This of course isn't true because I use that blog for my rantings once in a while.

But nevertheless, I might have just been on Google's good side as they have decided to award my blog with a PR 4 while also giving my homepage a PR 2. Isn't that great?! I didn't do anything special to be noticed by Google's bots so I'm still kind of surprised with all that is happening.

Oh well at least I know that more doors will be open to me and my blog now that I'm a PR 4 but I better be careful because one false move could mean that Google might just demote me with one twirl of the magic wand.

Posts Worthy to Read

It occurred to me that my posts are becoming more and more shallow as the days passes by. Maybe it's because I don't have time to blog anymore or maybe it's because I'm having difficulty maintaining two blogs at a time. But what ever excuses or reasons I have they are not good enough to justify why my posts are slowly losing value and worth.

Or maybe there isn't anything special happening in my life lately and that my life now is plain redundant and well... boring... well why not make my blog into an online journal right? Well it sort of has been an online journal except that I can't write my thoughts the way Meredith Grey of Grey's Anatomy or the way Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the city expresses their thoughts.

Well many has happened in the past days and I guess that it's not worth sharing them anymore because they are already old and stale.

Is this the end?

I have so many thoughts in my head that I want to share and express but I seem to have no time to blog at all. Well I do have time but they were used up with setting up our wireless internet network, playing PlayStation 3 games, and yeah my job.

I ask my self... is this really the end to my blogging life? Well I hop not. I won't let that happen. Well anyway, I have a day off tomorrow so I can definitely work over time tomorrow and make more future-dated posts so that even if I don't get to blog things will still appear here. hehehe...

I miss all my blogging friends already. If I have the time tomorrow from blogging I'll be sure to give them a drop and say hi. But for now no more new posts yet... well... that is if you don't include this one.

Yeah I haven't been earning a lot from blogging anymore but since I already have a stable job that's ok. Oh my! I still can't believe I have work. Like I hate working... huhuhu... well have to work again tonight... yeah night shift sucks but at least I get paid more for it.

FINALLY!!! The Internet is HERE!

Hahaha! Up yours TELUS! Sorry for that. It's just that I'm so frustrated with Telus because they had to make us wait for several days for them to install our TV Cable + Phone + Internet Bundle. But they never came and they had the nerve to make us wait for another several days. But good thing for us Canada is home to more better service providers such as SHAW!

Yup SHAW only made us wait for three days (which could only be a day if we called after and not before Saturday and Sunday) to install our utilities. And I am loving SHAW! Their Pay Per View service is excellent, the phone service is excellent, the internet speed is excellent, plus the customer service is excellent. It makes me want to say SHAW = EXCELLENT!!!

Plus our Shaw bundle does not only saves us a lot of money it also comes with a free Shaw Secure software ($90 for non-Shaw internet subscribers) which protects us from viruses, spyware, identity theft, spam, and pesky pop-ups.

Our subscription also comes with 10 free e-mail addresses and web pages. Having Shaw is one good reason to move to Canada hehehe.

Google Adsense Move

I'm glad that my Google Adsense has earned me around $80 now and I am going to cash this out as soon as I reach the $100 mark. But I still have some issues regarding the payee address (my address) because I can't seem to change my Country in the Payee Information. But I've already sent a request form to Google about the change in address so I guess that everything will be ok for now.

I've been a very bad blogger these days since I'm always out of the house and all but once we get the internet connected I guess that everything will work out. I'm actually using the library public pc right now since my brother wanted to use my laptop instead and I wonder why...

Anyway, I'll leave blogging for another day.

The Blogger Police has Gone Bad

I have been tagged as a "Blogger Police" before but I guess that that name doesn't suit me anymore because I have gone to the opposite side of the force... the dark force...

I have become... an ABSENTEE BLOGGER! Yup I don't want to be absent all the time from the blogging world but I can't help it. Under difficult circumstances the blogging gods has cursed me and I don't have internet access at our new home still and I have to walk to the library to go online. It has been a long while (and I mean looong) since I've been online. It's because of my stupid job and such hehehe.

But here I am now blogging with an agitated brother because he wants to use the laptop because I guess he too had been long gone from the internet world. But since I am kind and understanding I will allow him to use my precious laptop and use the public pc which I don't know why he doesn't want to use... technology scare I guess.

Maximizing Web Advertising

I am a consumer, just like all of us are, and what makes a great business bloom and expand is if a website has it's own website. Yup! A business should definitely have it's own website so that a business list of clients can expand.

Like me for example, when I bought my Sony Ericsson W960i, I searched on the internet for a cellphone shop with the lowest price. And I did find a shop that meets my needs and because the cellphone shop had a website I was able to tract that store and buy my phone.

But before you think that making a professional looking website is enough you also have to find a way to drive potential customers to your website. This is where ppc advertising comes into the picture. This form of advertising is also called paid search advertising because as you search for a product, Google or Yahoo will provide "sponsored links" and these links will have your website and a short description of your website and your product.

But how do you do all of this? Well I have absolutely no idea too because I am a novice when it comes to these stuff. That is why you need the services of NetworkSolution's ppc advertising.

With NetworkSolutions does all the work for you from analyzing your website, purchase keywords, and create ads. In other words you just have to sit and relax and wait for reports on your campaign. And if you're thinking that you need hundreds of dollars per day for advertisement well that's where you're even more wrong. Because NetworkSolutions provides affordable plans for you. And guess what? You only pay when someone clicks your ads!

So if you want your business to bloom and reap more profits then ppc advertising is the way to do it!

Finding Your Web Host

You know what? I have been searching all over for an excellent host that could provide me with the excellent service for a cheaper price. Sadly it is so hard to find a hosting company on the internet because the company may have great promotional talks but when it comes to the services they offer, they fall short big time!

That is why if you would want to get your own domain you should get a web hosting company you should know it's web hosting rating. Because you don't want to sign up and pay for a year of service and then regret it afterwards. What's worst is that there are web hosting companies that don't offer web hosting transfer services meaning you are left with a non-working website with flaws and as well as a big headache because you have absolutely no idea on how to transfer your website to another host.

Don't waste your time, money, and avoid headaches by checking out a web hosting rating. So if you are a blogger like me who wants a reliable hosting company that is also very affordable, you should check out Web Hosting Geek's Best Budget Hosting (2007).

This way you get the service that you want the way you want it to be.

Top Wordpress Themes

I have been visiting some blogging friends (their blogs of course not their houses) and I have to say that I love their blogs. They are using Wordpress by the way and I am so jealous of their blogs, because it's so easy to maintain, that's why I'm even thinking of moving my blog to a Wordpress blog.

But what really me jealous is that their blogs really look so good. Wordpress templates really look so cool and they are so easy to install. And you can get these templates completely for free at several wordpress templates sites but the one that I liked most is a site called TopWPThemes.com.

Check out this theme. Isn't it a beauty? There are more where that came from so you Wordpress users should really take most of what you have and give your blogs a new look with new wordpress templates.

What's Wrong with my Blog?!

If you check my blog clearly you would notice that my blog has a second set of posts at the bottom part...

Hmm... I'm really bummed and I don't know how to fix this. Maybe I could just edit the blog layout. But then I'll lose all the customizations that i did for this blog but I don't really care right now. And I plan to abandon this blog too. I'm becoming too busy to blog already and having two blogs is proving to be difficult. It is sad though because this blog has been with me for so long too.

Genuine Microsoft XP

I was quite happy with my self that I was able to reap the fruits of my labor (Php 15,000 or $357)! And what do I get my self with some of my money? A Genuine Microsoft XP Operating Software for my lappy!

Some people would look at me in wonder for my decision but it makes sense really. If the Custom Officer notices that my laptop has a counterfeit operating software then they have all the right to confiscate my laptop and boy I sure don't want that to happen!

Anyway I wanted to get a Windows Vista Starter Pack which is only Php 2000 or $47 here in the Philippines but everywhere I go they only had a Windows XP so I've decided to buy a Windows XP Home for Php 4000 or $95. Windows XP may not have the beautiful designs of Vista but at least my lappy will run faster... I should have bought a Vista when I had the chance or I should have waited until we went back to Makati but maybe God has a plan with this all (oh man my defense mechanism: rationalizing!).

Anyway I'm happy with my Windows XP Home and my laptop is running quite fast really. I just wished that Microsoft didn't have to make this ugly sticker to certify that my laptop is installed with a Genuine Microsoft Software:

Free Wi-Fi Connection at the Centennial Airport

I was waiting for my flight to Cebu when I decided to boot up my lappy since I saw other users fiddling with their laptops. I thought that there was a free Wi-Fi connection so I booted up as well. Well I did manage to find several Wi-Fi connections but some were free yes but no wonder they are free because the connection was slow and unstable. I had to reconnect every 5 minutes or so and it took several minutes for a page to load. Well my time and effort in booting up my laptop was sure wasted since I couldn’t connect to the internet anyway.

But at least I had the time to write this entry so by the time I arrive home I have more entries that I could post because it would be another several weeks until I am able to connect to the internet when I travel to Canada.

But really, airports should really provide free Wi-Fi connections because we do pay airport fees or whatever aside from the airplane tickets we buy. I swear, that the internet is a valuable utility since it could help you in booking hotels and renting cars because searching the phonebook and calling each establishment one by one is surely a waste of time.
