Being A Teacher Is Hard

Boy, I have said this before but I'll say it again, being a teacher is so freaking hard! I wanted to be a teacher before but now that I'm experiencing one role of a teacher I'm having second thoughts. Yup I did plan on becoming a clinical instructor (CI) some day but I'm having second thoughts right now.

No I do not have a part time as a teacher at some university (because I'm not qualified, Lol). I'm helping my mom with her checking of papers because she's a part-time professor at a local university teaching basic accounting. And checking accounting test papers is so tiring! I hve to check each entry one by one to check if they got the total correctly and that it didn't appear on it's own. I still have 3 days to check them and I guess I'll divide my work on those days to preserve my sanity.

I hate doing so many things at a time. I used to multi-task but I realized that it's best to focus on one activity so that you'll finish more than end up with many unfinished projects/activities. I have my blogging, my new domain to finish, my checking, and guess I have to eat in between too. Wished a day had longer hours so that I could get more finished.

Another New Car

One thing that still confuses me is that a lot of people are saying that the economy is getting bad and all but then here comes my cousin who just bought a new Ford Ranger after he was fed up with his old Mazda car. Here's a pic of his new baby:

Ain't it a beauty? I'm so jealous. Anyway I told him that he should better get a car insurance since you know how it is with robbers. The better looking the car the higher their motivation is to steal. In the US alone, cars get stolen every 26 seconds so one should really be safe than sorry and get a car insurance. I googled car insurance and a lot of companies showed up. You should really get auto insurance quotes so that you'll get an auto insurance that can guarantee your assurance and peace of mind that whenever there's anything that happens to your precious car, you are insured.

And if you're looking for auto insurance quotes within near your area you might want to check out carinsurancerates.com. They have free quotes for any vehicle anywhere in just 5 minutes. Cool huh? I'm sure that you'll find everything you need about car insurance there.

Please Support David Archuleta

Please support David Archuleta and vote for him on American Idol. Why would you vote for him? Well his songs below would be very good reasons enough why he should be the Next American Idol 2008. Hahaha! I really am a fan. In fact I even joined archuletafans.com to prove that I'm a die-hard fan of David A. So if you have ODD (Obsessive David Disorder) please support him by buying his songs on iTunes and don't forget to vote for him! ^_^

Angels - David Archuleta (My favorite)

When You Believe- David Archuleta

Smoky Mountain Memories - David Archuleta

We Can Work It Out - David

You're The Voice - David Archuleta

Angels in the Alleyway - David Archuleta (I Love this song too)

And here's David Archuleta's performance at the Top 6! He sings Think of Me and I haveto say that he did an excellent job making the song his own and for creating a pop ballad song.

Money Problems

I was quite shocked to find out recently that my mom had actually gotten herself a payday cash loan before. I knew that my mom was having some difficulty handling all our finances when my dad stopped working but I never knew that such loans existed.

For those who don't know what payday cash loans are they are loans intended to cover a borrower's expenses until his or her next payday. I find this loans quite helpful really since we can't change the fact that the country's economy is not that good anymore and there are so many price increases but there is no changes in the salary.

Oh well, as long as payday cash loans exists I'm sure that everybody could get by. Good thing we're already moving this June to another country with a better economy.

Manok Nanaman?!

To you guys who don't understand what "Manok Nanaman?!" means, it is a Tagalog phrase that states "What? Chicken Again?!".

Yup for the past few days all that I have been eating is chicken, chicken, chicken... From fried chicken, to Lechon Manok (Barbecued Chicken), to Chicken Inasal (a special Filipino Barbecued Chickendish made), and all the chickens in the world that you could think of.

As the saying goes, you are what you eat meaning... WAIT! I am not a chicken!!!

Anyway but there are some benefits in always eating chicken. It means that my doggie, Missy Pooh, would get to eat her favorite dish: chicken! I don't know why that dog goes loco over chicken. She doesn't eat anything else. She has a few food items that she likes and these are soup bones, chorizo (don't know the English equivalent for that one), and of course her favorite chicken.

The Women Hunt

After rummaging the net (and after being pressured by Juliana hehehe) here are my pics for "The Women Hunt"!

SEXIEST SMILE
Image is a Property of ~raephius

I guess that anyone who has a genuine smile is sexy.

SEXIEST BODY
For me I find Katherine Heigl (more known as Dr. Isobel Stevens of Grey's Anatomy) as the woman with the most sexiest body.

SEXIEST EYES
I told myself that I won't choose famous celebrities for this but what can I do. The more I search for sexy eyes the more I see of Angeline Jolie and I think she pretty much fits the description don't you. She has very seductive eyes.

Oh well there you have it my picks for The Women Hunt. ^_^

Coming Out of My Shell

Well you've just seen a video about my blooper and I just came out of my shell. Speaking of shells I'm craving for gulf oysters right now. Gulf oysters are exquisitely delicious and just simply delectable but they do have some dangers to it. That is why one should be an informed eater as not to end up with a bad stomach or a systemic infection. So enjoy your gulf oysters everyone and make sure that you are not an at-risk consumer of oysters.

Good thing I know something about Oysters or my most embarrassing moment would have included a stomachache and a trip to the hospital.

On Buying a Car

I was asked by my mom to do some errands for her one day, she has asked me to deposit some money to the bank. As usual the bank was filled with so many people and the priority number I got would take a few more hours until it was called. So I decided to read some of the bank brochures to fight my boredom.

The brochure that really caught my interest was about a car loan. I know that I still don't have any job at the moment but I really believe that I should really learn more about car loans so that I could find the car loan that is right for me, cheap monthly payments with little interest.

I've learned that there are many types of auto loans. There are loans for new cars, loans for used cars, and a loan to refinance a current car loan. But there are still so many things for me to know. Good thing that I'm still young and I have enough time to prepare for my dream car. I better start learning more about car loans then.

My New Website!

Yipee! I have done it! One of my dreams have already been met. I have my own personal website at my very own domain! It's not finished yet but my new domain is at http://www.edgarvincentbautista.com!

Yeah I know that I said that I couldn't change the domain that I had registered in (www.mynursesnotes.com) but turns out that I can. The guys at Technographx were really nice and that they respond to my questions and requests ASAP since you can contact them directly through YM. And I also just found out that Technographx is a Filipino Webhosting Company based in the Philippines (where else would a Filipino company be based? Ireland? ^_^).

Anyway I've decided to get my own domain since one, it's my dream, and two, this blog demoted to a PR 0. So returning to a PR 0 is actually a good thing since it opened a new window to better opportunities. I had fun maintaining this blog and my other blog, My Nurses Notes, and I think it's already time to spread my wings and become a pro-blogger (char, Lol!).

I Want To Protect My Home

Just last night I heard a gang war going on outside my house. It was around 2 am when I heard teenagers screaming and throwing stones at each other. It was an awful experience and what made it worst was that some stones were falling on our roof too...

My God. Why on earth did my father buy a house & lot in this neighborhood? Because it's cheap? Well it has good reasons why it's cheap, it's located in a bad neighborhood. I'm constantly am awakened at night fearing that one of those gang members will break in and steal something. And where there are gangs, vandalism is something very common.

What I need right now is a homeowner's insurance. I want to feel safe all the time even when I'm out of the house. I want to be assured that even if I return to my house that has burned down to the ground or vandalized by some stupid gang.

Also if I want to move out from this bad neighborhood I would need a homeowner's insurance to be able to get a mortgage loan so that I could have that dream house for me and my family in a safe and peaceful neighborhood.

Bought My Own Domain!

Oh my God! I have done something that would definitely change my life forever! I have just bought my very own domain! It's http://www.mynursesnotes.com! Yup it's a dream come true. I have always dreamed of having my own personal website and there it is. I was thinking of using http://www.vincentbautista.com or http://www.edgarbautista.com but unfortunately those websites are already taken. I could have chosen my domain to be http://www.edgarvincentbautista.com but that would simply be too long and I've already signed up and paid for my domain http://www.mynursesnotes.com (darn it).

This means that I must continue and pursue what I have started and become a registered nurse. Hahaha! Funny how I allow my career to be controlled by my domain's name. But yeah, I am serious with becoming a nurse and I don't see myself as anything else.

Who would have thought that I would actually take this blogger thing to the next level? And if you guys are wondering, yes I used my earnings from my blogging to buy my own domain at TechnoGraphx.com. You'll be amazed at their very low rates and not to mention that you can pay them through your PayPal account. I got my domain for a very low price of $12 for 1 year!

I hope that my domain gets activated soon (they said within 24 hours) and I can't wait to set it up and design it. Well if ever it gets ready I'll be sure to inform you guys!

Choose Your Friends Carefully

I don't know what some Filipino teenagers are thinking right now and they choose to take a path to self-destruction?! A good example? My stupid brother! He was already almost expelled for illegal possession of Marijuana and now he has entered himself into another mess and I am really frustrated about it. He has joined a "Filipino Gang" called the Bloods. If you're not familiar with this stupidity (that Filipinos are so trying hard to imitate) then let me explain what Bloods is. Bloods is a gang that has a rival gang called the Crips (the Bloods and Crips are mostly composed of Black Americans by the way). The Bloods wear red bandannas on their faces while the Crips wears blue. They have nothing better to do aside from fighting with each other late at night (or early at dawn) throwing stones at each other and disturbing the community's peace.

My brother was even very proud to say that his "gang" is established world wide, which of course is true and another fact would be that these gangs are involved in murders, robberies, drug dealing, among many other criminal pursuits. And the stupid Filipinos (here and abroad) want to imitate these gangs as their idols thinking it's cool. No wonder I received this comment about Filipinos, and I have to say I am ashamed. I am ashamed that some Filipinos are stupid enough to join the Bloods and Crips. Instead of trying to establish their lives in the US or any other part of the world as respected immigrants they want to stand out in their community as juvenile delinquents!

I wouldn't care less if they want to ruin their lives but they had to drag my stupid brother into their none sense! Every day they come to our house looking for my idiot of a brother to join them in what ever gang activity they do (riots, drug usage, and other criminal acts as vandalizing) and who again has to cover for my stupid brother? My mom. What is my brother's problem that he really wants to ruin his life? But actually I don't give a damn if he dies in his gang riots because I'm sick and tired of trying to tell him that what he's going into is wrong. My mom tried her best and even thought of sending him away somewhere far from his stupid gang but my brother told my mom, "What do you care, it's my life!" You moron! As long as you're under the roof of our parents at least have some decency as not to drag our family down with you!

I give up. He's not my child so what do I care. Let my parents handle their son's mess, it's actually their fault for always giving in to his demands and other stupidity. The videos below kind of summarizes what my brother is in to right now. He and some other mislead Filipino youths are going to be great liabilities. The government should do something before anyone gets killed.

For your information: Crips use the symbol BK which means "Blood Killas" while the Bloods use the symbol CK as "Crips Killer"... stupidity I tell you, killing each other for very low reasons...

Meet Tree Man

Meet Dede Koswara, a 35-year old Indonesian, more commonly known as "Tree Man". And if you have seen the video then you would have an idea of what why he's called as Tree Man. And in case you were wondering he is not half man and half tree. He is 100% man. The tree like growths on his digits and face are not plant in origin. They are actually over growth of warts caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), the same virus that is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that causes genital warts. Unfortunately for Dede's case, he has an abnormal genetic make-up that causes his immune system to be as weak as a person with AIDS that is why the HPV is successful in literally taking over his body.

Dede was left by his wife because of his appearance and his two children (an 18 year old boy and 16 year old girl) had to live with his other relatives because he was not able to take care of them anymore because he is incapable of working (since he can't grasp things with his root-like hands) and is forced to live in poverty. He is able to survive by some provisions given to him by his extended family and from being the center of attraction at their village's local "freak show".

Good enough for him an American Dermatologist promised to help him return to his normal life by performing several surgeries to prevent the warts from totally debilitating him and taking his life as these warts could become cancerous.

And here is a picture of him after his first surgery:

Not much change is seen but at least his hands and feet are already starting to look like hands. From being the local village freak-show I do hope that he could achieve his dream of getting a job and returning to a normal life and maybe even find love. Well, Dede, I wish you all the luck!

I really honor the courage that he has. If I was faced with the same affliction I might not have survived at all. I know that many people are disgusted at his sight and are making fun of him but once you place yourself in his position, you would be able to have some empathy for him and you would realize what a strong person he is.

PR 0?! What the?

The Cast Away Blogger

Ok my blog was never a PR 4 but it was a PR 1 and I'm so proud of that because I worked hard for that but all of the sudden my PR became 0 when it was a PR 1 last night. I am now wondering what I did to deserve such a drop in PR.

This is really so depressing... I don't want to live anymore! Hahaha that's a bit too much. The hell with PR! I blog because I want to and not for some rating (char). But still... ouch!

But honestly I don't think that I've done anything wrong. I even removed my Adbrite Ads since I thought that it made my Adsense earnings drop but ok enough with that.

On with my life... even if I have a PR 0 blog... huhuhu...

Operation Tuli

I was quite shocked at first when my very conservative friend who happens to be a girl sent me an SMS yesterday saying that she was able to touch 30 or more penises in the span of 4 hours. And she was quite proud of herself and happy with the whole experience. At first I was quite scandalized by what she said and all sort of naughty thoughts came running into my head.

It was a good thing though that she clarified what she told me and said that she just had the most wonderful experience in "Operation Tuli". Operation Tuli is an annual project of the Department of Health - Philippines to have young boys circumcised (Tuli in Tagalog) in their own towns and municipality. I'm kind of jealous because I too want to experience an Operation Tuli which I doubt would exist in Canada. In Operation Tuli, several young boys wait in line for their free circumcision.

Circumcision has been a ritual for many religions and culture. Circumcision paves the way into adulthood and manhood while it is also a ritual in the Judeo-Christian Tradition to strengthen the covenant with God. Medically speaking, circumcision (the removal of the foreskin of the penis) is for hygienic purposes as dirt and secretions tends to accumulate in the foreskin and will result to urinary tract infections (UTI).

In other countries though male circumcision is done 2-3 weeks after birth. And if you're wondering there is also a female circumcision which I will post about later since it deserves to be discussed further.

For more information on circumcision I recommend this very informative site, kidshealth.org.

Cebu Operating Room Scandal

Disclaimer: This video is not the property of this blog's owner and the video is hosted externally.

Before anyone reacts I wanted to share this video for the sake of discussion and as a reference. If you are not open minded and is not willing to accept the thoughts and opinions of other people then please do not continue to read this post if you will only flame me in the end. If you want to know my opinion on this matter please read on.

To those who have no idea what this video is about this is a video taken from a camera of a student nurse at an operating room at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) at Cebu City, Philippines.

This video (that was spread on the internet like wild fire on Youtube, emails, and even cellphones) was of a 30 year old homosexual who had an Avon's Black Suede For Men Body Spray (thus the name Black Suede Scandal) allegedly inserted into his rectum when he had sex with a stranger.

What made the video so scandalous and caused such a sensation is when the doctors, nurses, and other operating room staff laughed and jeered at the patient's condition as seen in the video.

But here are are some of my reaction upon some comments of people online regarding the said topic:
  • On Medical Malpractice - As defined by Larry Curtis Law Firm is a form of negligence where an injury results from a medical professional’s or medical facility’s failure to exercise adequate care, skill or diligence in performing a duty. We should actually congratulate the doctors for a successful operation. No invasive procedures were done on such an extraordinary case. The operation was a success and there are no complications.
  • On Breach of Sterility - The people seen in the video were curious staff from other operating rooms within the operating room complex therefore they are considered sterile. They did not come from outside the operating room. And the people with no gloves were at least 12 inches away from the operating table so as stated by the sterile technique the operation is still considered sterile. Besides the people with out gloves did not perform the operation.
  • On Cameras in the Operating Room - Actually in my case, cameras are allowed inside the operating room and we student nurses are indeed allowed to take pictures for the sake of documentation which would be used for future case studies.
  • On Breach of Patient Confidentiality - When I reviewed the video footage the patient's identity was not at all exposed. The patient's face was not seen and no distinguishing body marks such as tattoos and birth marks were not captured on film. We wouldn't even know the sex and age of the patient if he hadn't exposed himself to media saying that he was a Florist, he was 30 year old, and he even divulged how that can arrived at his rectum. And yes his consent was asked and he did agree to have the operation filmed because as I reiterate this is a very unusual operation. So the video taking had the patient's consent.
  • On the Revocation of the Doctor's Licenses - I think that the people are overly reacting just like the way Filipinos over-reacted to Teri Hatcher's "some doctor from the Philippines" comment. It's not like the doctors killed someone or anything, I agree that sanctions may be imposed on their behavior but revoking their titles for laughing and cheering is way too harsh.
  • On the Operating Room Staff's Cheering & Laughing - To be fair to the patient, I would also be furious if I were in his position if I knew that a video of me was circulating on the internet but then I would realize that no one would know that it was me. It's also normal for people to be curious and have fun and joke around. In fairness the doctors and nurses were laughing at the situation not at the patient, that is a totally different context. It would be a normal reaction of a normal person to an extraordinary situation. No person was hurt, just a pride that was bruised. But now that we mention it isn't it the patient's fault that he was in this predicament because he had a one night stand with a complete stranger. He was lucky that he wasn't killed by his promiscuity. But that is a totally different issue and that is not my problem. The issue that I am concerned of is the outcome of the health care professionals who are being crucified for an issue that is overly exaggerated.
This issue had circulated and has been talked well enough and I think that this should already be wrapped up and more important issues were tackled like the improvement of the health care system in the Philippines and the improvement of nurse's wages and patient to nurse ratios.

I know that this post would gather a lot of negative reactions but let me again reiterate the blog's disclosure policy: The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely my own, as this is a personal blog.

Archbishop Oscar Cruz: A Public Sinner

Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz said ‘public sinners’ should not be given the Holy Sacrament of Communion including, he said, President Arroyo. ‘I would not give communion to somebody receiving communion in public whom I know is a public sinner.’ Because to do so would be ‘like throwing the body and blood of Christ into the garbage.' from abs-cbnnews.com
What an awful thing to say for a person whose life is supposed to be devoted to God. What gives him the right to condemn and crucify any person (sinner or not) denying them the body and blood of Christ? If I remember the Lord's words when he was asked why he eats with known social sinners as tax collectors and this is what Jesus Christ has answered:
Those who are well have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous but sinners. (Mark 2:15-17)
Jesus calls for us to love our fellow men but Oscar Cruz calls us to choose a stone and throw it at our President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. It is quite unfair that he released such statements in public. We must remember that he is just a man. He has no right to judge who are the sinners because he himself is a sinner.

In fact he is a public sinner himself. He is a liar! A public liar and he had absolutely no shame and lied. Oscar Cruz said that the media misquoted him and had taken his statement out of context that he had never said that he will refuse communion to President GMA and her family but the video recordings of his statements are very clear and are attacks directly made to the president. Video camera recordings don't lie, people do.

Quezon Rep. Danilo Suarez, along with 27 other congressmen, have urged the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines to impose sanctions on Cruz for his statements regarding the President. And if the CBC do not take actions in giving sanctions to Oscar Cruz for conduct unbecoming of an archbishop, congress is willing to take the issue to Vatican.

We have heard of so many rotten priests in the world who are guilty of rape, child molestation, and yes even corruption. Let us all Catholics unite to stop these people from abusing the holy power that was entrusted to them. These are the priests that tarnish the name of the Church and all that is holy.

Mr. Oscar Cruz for lying and being a public sinner why don't you abstain from taking the body and blood of Christ? Better yet condemn yourself like what you do to other people you tag as sinners.

The church is supposed to be an advocate of peace and love. Not hate...

Brownies & The SMS Solution

My mom has a friend who sells these amazing brownies and I have to say that they are heavenly! The Brownie is generously sprinkled with these chocolate kisses and every bite is just so chocolaty. I gave some of my friends a piece and they were immediately hooked. They asked me where they could buy these brownies and I told them that my mom's friend had no store and her products are only sold by word through friends.

I was thinking that the world shouldn't be deprived of these brownies and I thought of ways to reach a lot of people about her products at a very affordable cost. what came into my mind was Cellit Mobile Marketing. With Cellit my mom's friend could reach a thousand or more people about her delicious brownies through people's cellphones. In this day of age almost everyone has a cellphone so text messaging is the way to reach your potential customers.

Cellit also has the amazing sister website House4Cell, a great way for real estate agents to send property information directly to the cellphone screens of their home buyers that are subscribed for them. Pictures can be sent and home buyers can just call, fax, or email the real estate agent for more details through the links provided.

Cellit Mobile Marketing is truly revolutionary and its services are centered on smaller clients like my mom's friend. I'm sure that Cellit will make her business boom and it wouldn't be long till she opens up her own store specializing in deserts and then she could use the services of CouponZap, where she could hand out free coupons to potential customers. And who wouldn't like free stuff right so using mobile marketing is an excellent way of advertising. It's effective, cheap, and it's loads of fun.

I can see it now, people talking of brownies after receiving an SMS about it. I should really talk to my mom's friend soon so that we could be partners. I'll be her advertising manager hahaha.

A Sweet Relationship

Yesterday when I was going home I noticed these two people in the seat in front of me. One was an older gentleman and the other was a young boy (who I've heard was in 4th year high school). They were kind of sweet to each other and I know that they had a special relationship. The boy was kind of sleepy so he rested his head on the man's shoulder and the gentleman placed his arm around the boy's shoulder. They looked so comfortable with each other.

But wait! Before you get the wrong idea and think that they are having a perverted/pedophile kind of relationship let me clarify that these two have a father and son relationship. I had you going there didn't I? Well I at first had the same impression and said to my self how sweet in a lovers kind of way. The young boy was actually good looking so I first thought that the older man was his sugar-daddy hahaha!

But with all that out of our system, I kind of envy the kind of relationship they have (father and son ok?). They really are so close to each other. They're more like of best buddies rather than a paternal & child image. I wished that I had the same relationship with my father so that I could easily express what I feel and just feel safe and comfortable. But I had convinced myself that that wouldn't happen. I'm the kind of person who hold grudges and it's a negative attribute that I have. I had a very bad childhood because of my father who was very abusive. For me he cared more for the things that I accidentally broke as a child than me that is why I hate him. Right now, our relationship is kind of neutral. No hate, but I don't love him too. The respect is there though...

The Blogger Addict

I went down to school today because I had some unfinished business and who do I have with me today? No other than my handy dandy laptop. I didn't want to miss out on the juicy blogging happenings hahaha!

Last night (or a few hours ago) I slept at 2:00 am since I decided to blog hop on all of my blogging friends' blog and boy it was very time-consuming but very fun too! I had seen new updates and learned new amazing stuff from their blogs. I would like to blog hop to their pages every day but I guess that my sanity won't handle it hehehe.

But yeah the Blogger Addict (that's me if you haven't noticed yet, Lol) needs to be comfortable too while blogging. Sure they say that laptops were meant to be used on laps but it's just so uncomfortable and I don't want to bend my back since my back is slouched already hahaha! I made a little blogger space for myself in my room. I set up a nice desk with a chair (that keeps my back straight) and good lighting to avoid blogger eye strain hehehe. ^_^

Oh well, if I'm an addict then I should be addicted in a good and productive way hehehe. To all my fellow blogging addicts, aja! Continue our pursuit for blogging happiness, Lol.

Thank God for Online Phone Cards

For many people out there who needs to make international calls on a daily basis (may it be for business reasons, for calling your loved ones, or simply just to fight boredom) they have one common problem: the tremendous amount that they would have to pay when the telephone bill arrives.

But thank God that prepaid cards were invented. With an online phone card one could save up to 80% or more over regular long distance providers like AT&T, Sprint, and such. You can choose from a variety of phone cards that are suitable for you and the call that you are going to make at a very cheap price. Buying cards online is not only quick but you are also ensured of great voice quality too! In this era, technology has sure protected the integrity of family ties and close bonds with people by making sure that people stay connected even if they live far away. That is why we all should be thankful that we already have an online phone card which we could purchase anytime of the day and immediately.

So if you are interested in buying an online phone card you might want to check out Phone Cards Avenue.

On Changing the Blog HTML and CSS

I have wanted to change the layout and HTML design of my blog for some while now but I realize that doing so would result in the removal of some of my widgets and links. I may want to make my blog more nice looking but the consequences outweighs the benefits so I would rather stick to my old plain blog design.

A blog friend, Ruthi, had changed her blog HTML design and is recently having some trouble with her PayPerPost tools. It seems that her code was erased when she changed her HTML and she's having some difficulty in re-installing her PPP code.

I really am sad for her because I know how frustrating it is to have very good opportunities from PPP pass by because of her present technical difficulty. I had some suggestions that might help her like adding the code before the /body tag and refreshing the code but I'm no expert at HTML codes so it so sad that I can't really help her.

So to bloggers out there who would want to change how their blogs look, better think twice and be sure that you have a good know-how with these confusing HTML and CSS codes. It would be best if you redesigned your blog when you first started the blog.

Nurstoons

(just click on the images to enlarge)

I just want to share these comic strips about student nurses from Nurstoon.com. They may be insanely funny but they somehow hold some truth. That what makes Nurstoon.com's comic strips very interesting.

As a student nurse I also had and will continue to have many bloopers and interesting experiences and I would really love to share all of them.

So to all of you student nurses never stop dreaming and believing in our selves. Someday we will be registered nurses, I just know it. And if ever we had made some stupid mistakes along the way let's just charge it to experience and try not to make the same mistakes twice. Remember, you never learn unless you make a mistake.

David Archuleta - When You Believe

Ah! It's already Mariah Carey Week on American Idol and David Archuleta has once again pulled it off with a great song! He really picked a perfect and challenging song, When You Believe. And the judges would have to agree with me that David did a great job! Singing a girl's song is very hard, what made the song more challenging was that this song was not sang by any ordinary girls they were sang by two divas, Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston!

Wow is all that I could say! And David is always smiling and this is one great factor why America would vote for him as the American Idol 2008. What makes David a star are the following ingredients... [(smile + lips) x cute factor + amazing voice] = A Certified Star!

I can't wait for him to sell his album and tour the world! Go David! Oh man! I think that I may just have a serious case of ODD! Obsessive David Disorder! Hahaha!

Swimming Safety

Ok this post may not be related to nursing or health (well somehow it is) but it is related to life and death...

Accidents do happen and cases of drowning are the worst accident that could happen. You and your friends are having fun at the beach or in the pool when all of a sudden friend disappears and you find his/her dead body minutes later.

We all have had a near-drowning experience and it is very frightening. We all had tried swimming in deep waters and then our muscles give up or worst we get a cramp. So to prevent incidents of drowning here are some swimming tips:
  1. Always have a buddy system to always check if your partner is doing well and isn't drowning.
  2. Do not swim in deep waters if you do not know how to swim. Use flotation devices if you insist on swimming.
  3. Never swim in a pool without a life guard.
  4. Learn how to float! Floating is a vital skill every swimmer should have because if one has cramps or any muscle weakness one could just float and rest.
I'm no expert at swimming but these are just some tips based on experience that I could share. The floating part saved me from drowning countless of times.

Mac Games and More!

One downside that I find when using a Mac is that it has a small variety and array of games to choose from. I'm quite of a fantasy RPG player so finding Mac games for a gamer like me is quite hard! Good thing there are sites like macgamesandmore.com which offers not only games but freeware and other mac softwares for you to download for free! Yup you heard me, for free!

So if you're a hardcore gamer and has just switched or just bought yourself a great Apple Computer then Miss teri tale for mac and Chuzzle for mac are just some of the games that you could download for free at macgamesandmore.com!

You Don't Like Me? No Problem!

My friend Ellen has a younger brother who transferred to our university last year. I know that it might be difficult for him to transfer and all because he might not have friends and all. So every time he joins his sister for lunch or when they meet up at the library I had always tried my best to be nice at him (smiling and all).

But what a huge slap it is to me when his sister told me that he didn't like me and all... I forgot what Ellen and I were talking about when she brought that topic up. Of course I was quite offended with the statement and I replied, "Good! I never liked him the first time I laid eyes on him too!"

I was so infuriated! Like from all of the good deeds I've done from lending him my clothes when he needed it and being nice (which I normally don't do to strangers) he has the guts to hate me? Yeah not liking someone is the same as hate as I realized that he didn't want to be around me whenever he and his sis meets up. Like whatever dude! I was not placed in this world to please you.

Just recently I came to his home because me and my friends slept over at Ellen's house and of course he would be there because he lived there. I did my best to ignore him and I did a great job too. Ellen told him that he and I should be friends now and guess what he said? "Edgar and I are already friends..." yeah right in your dreams! I wonder when we did become friends.

I gave him my hand of friendship and I gave effort to get to know him (from sending Friendster messages and accepting his request to burn him some songs) and he just pushed my hand away. It's his lost not mine. But why am I blabbering about him anyway?

Maybe it's to share to everyone that don't be affected if anyone rejects you whenever you extend your friendship. You're not the one with the issues, they are!

Value of LifeLock

What's in a name? Well just one's reputation, power, and social status! The name you carry is your unique identification because no two persons have exactly the same name! There would always be deviations in the spelling and pronunciation. But one thing is for sure, a tarnished name is hard to fix.

This is where the value of life lock comes in. Life Lock may just be the protection you need from identity theft! With several scammers and phishing sites we find on the internet it is no wonder if our identity is stolen and used for fraudulent acts. And who gets blamed? Us of course.

In my lifelock review I would say that life lock is a need for anyone who uses the internet because without it we are very vulnerable. Just in my e-mail alone I receive 3-5 spams a day saying that I have one 3 billion dollars or anything like that. I am quite disturbed because what if one day I get to accidentally get trapped in a phishing site and all my private credentials are stolen... that would really be bad. But with life lock I am guaranteed that that would never happen!

My Dad a True Filipino

Filipinos have been known for being resourceful and innovative. Since the Philippines is a third world country, Filipinos have limited resources in terms of money and raw materials, that is why Filipinos would have to make do with whatever they have to be able to create or use something.

My Dad is a true Filipino then if being resourceful is a common trait with Filipinos. But I guess my dad has gone overboard with being resourceful because he is being more of a trash collector than a resourceful person and I mean it! Our house is full of trash because of him and our house looks like a slum house!

Our house is small but it wouldn't look so cheap if my dad didn't think of hanging those heart-shaped Ferrero Rocher chocolates as decorations. He thinks that it's classy to display expensive food wrappers to "show off", he doesn't even realize that he's just making a fool of himself in the process.

And another thing, we have glasses that he stores that we haven't even used but he decided to re-use those coffee glass containers. He really is so infuriating! He also refuses to buy a water glass pitcher because he insists that this is a waste of money because we could just re-use those 2 Liter Coke bottles. It's as if we're going to use "your" money! You don't even have a freaking job so why on earth would you care if we buy what ever we want to buy! But that's not the point. The point is there are some things that shouldn't be re-used and should just be thrown. If you re-use those plastic bottles, you pose yourself for esophageal cancer because as time passes, plastic molecules are eroded and gets mixed in the water you drink and these molecules are carcinogens (caner causing substances).

Aah! I just hate it when he is so stubborn! What's the use of owning drinking glasses and other usable items when you insist of using trash! But I can't blame him for being like that for he did grow up from a poor family but how come my mom who also came from a poor family is able to have good taste? Answer? My mom is sophisticated and my dad is still socially incapable of adjusting to our lifestyle.

Invincible -Christian Bautista

Song lyrics | Invincible lyrics

Christian Bautista (nope we're not related ^_^) is known as Asia's Pop Idol and by watching the movie you already know why. This is just one of the songs that I love that Christian sang.

I just love the message that the song brings. The song tells of a person that is weak in almost every way but what makes that person strong is his/her indomitable spirit. The person has the strength to always stand up every time he/she falls. That is what makes a person "Invincible", his strong will to never give up and continue to go on.

This is such an inspirational song and I just get into that reflective mood every time I hear this song. So to everyone, we are invincible! We just have to believe that we are and we will be.

5.11 Tactical Pants!

Do you guys know what one thing cops need in order for them to get out of the house? PANTS! Well yeah I know everybody needs to have pants on to be seen in public but if you're a cop having 5.11 Tactical is simply a must!

The use of 5.11 Tactical by cops and other law enforcement officers have been for over 20 years now and this isn't a huge wonder since 5.11 Tactical are very durable (good for running while chasing the bad guys) and very convenient too as the 5.11 Tactical have lots of pockets to store cop stuff like handcuffs, police badge, and what have you.

So bad guys beware! Because the cops with 5.11 Tactical are here! They show off a good fashion statement and at the same time the 5.11 Tactical enhance the safety, speed, accuracy, and performance of these hard working law enforcers!

The Cawayanon & Mangima Adventure

My friends (Nanette, Nikki & her sis RV, Ellen, Irene) and I went to a little field trip, a sort of despedida party for me. We (Nannete, Irene, & I) went to my house first for a movie marathon (we watched PS I Love You and some naughty movies later if you know what I mean). We then headed to Cawayanon for some golf and lunch. We wanted to go horse back riding but we had no time since we had to go to Mangima for a swim. We stayed again for the night, this time at Ellen's house where Nikki & her sis and Nanette (who went back to Cagayan de Oro after lunch) followed us. We then headed to Mangima again the following day and went home later in the afternoon. We really had fun! Wished Jera and more of my friends were with us.

I really love swimming. I was so sleepy and tired but when I jumped in the pool all my fatigue disappeared. And the food was great! Being with my friends was sure fun. This is one of my most memorable experiences with them.

LA Police Gear Part 2

I have recently made a post about LAPoliceGear.com and I have told you how cool their wide array of Police gears are. Their products are very durable (because they're designed for combat and all) and the price is very reasonable too.

I was looking through their product list when I found this new product that they had in store: a Blackhawk Holster. So you might think that this is just an ordinary holster well you're wrong. It has a patented SERPA lock that allows fast and smooth drawing of the gun for fast shooting and all. With the patented Blackhawk Holster you are assured that you can have a quick response when bad guys are around.

Plus the design is very nice and as the lucky recent owners of a Blackhawk Holster has said and I quote, "This is the best of the paddle holsters out there." I have dreams of being a cop someday and I hope that I could wear one of those complete police gear. But if ever I'm a cop, I know where to shop!

Ready for Christmas Shopping?

Ready for Christmas Shopping well you better save up and prepare for the holidays with a bang! Get ready for black friday because I found an online website that has online items and features discounts and sales that various merchants are offering. With these discounts and coupons you could really save a lot for more shopping!

Ladies and gentlemen I am proud to introduce Cyber Monday! You can save money when shopping for Christmas by buying items during Cyber Monday, which is the Monday after Thanksgiving. Plus they offers email alerts that let you know when new cyber monday sales have been posted how cool is that.

The site is very customer friendly and your shopping experience would not come short of fantastic! Why don't you check out Cyber Monday now!

Greed Gets You Nowhere!

I'm such a greedy bastard! Argh! I hate myself! I was so focused on getting more that I ended up losing the most important opportunity in my life! Greed is a sin I know and I am suffering now because of my greed. If only I could control my greed and focus on more important things.

I'm sorry guys but I cannot fully disclose what happened but it is quite frustrating. But somehow I have to move on and continue with my life. Carrying all these emotions only makes my chest feel heavier.

At least I learned my lesson today. I just have to charge this to experience then (woah it's like having a credit card)...

Time Flies When You're Having Fun

Woah! I'm really sad. Why does time fly so fast whenever I'm doing anything fun. I love blogging so that may be considered fun yes. I started blog hopping at around 7:00 am (yup an early blogger) and when I stare at the clock, it's already 9:00 am! What? I still feel as if 30 minutes have only passed.

But maybe the phrase "Time flies when you're having fun" should be updated because whenever I have a deadline I have to catch up to time seems to be fast forwarded... but I'm being silly. It's all in the mind after all. Time never slows down or fast forwards.

But then why am I wasting my time talking about time being fast or slow? Ayayayayay!

My Dream Tour of Italy

Who would ever think that I'm the kind of person who's dream is to tour the whole world! One place that I would surely go to is Italy! Italy is such a beautiful place with a rich culture and even more colorful history.

I would like to go there immediately right now and check in at a Hotel Venice and start my tour of the beautiful city. I'll make sure that I won't miss taking a boat ride through the Grand Canal.

After Venice I could then get a reservation at a Hotel Florence and enjoy the view and life there for a while and visit the museums, public gardens, and churches.

After Florence, where else would I go but Rome! While in Rome, I wonder if I'll just stay for good and rent a Rome Apartment as I'm sure that I'll instantly fall in love with the people and culture of Italy.

Woah! What a dream vacation that would be! But for people who are planning to go to Italy, why don't you visit freereservation.com and fulfill my dream vacation for me! Be sure to reserve your rooms now as finding any vacancy would be really difficult because of the great number of tourists.

Hmm, Italy wait for me!

Brother Why Don't You Blog?!

My brother is so irritating! I wasted my time making him a blog and I did all the preliminary linking and submission to blog directories so that he'll just need to post his entries! I was the one who even made his first post because he's just too lazy!

I don't know why he's lazy or what keeps him busy. All I know is that he always goes out of the house to hang out with his high school drop out friends. He wins the black sheep of the family award no doubt about it!

I sometimes wonder if he ever thinks of his future. My mom tells me that he's still young and needs more guidance. But young? Are you sure? For someone who can smoke and drink and someone who refuses to hear advice from his parents I don't think so that he's innocent or "young". He's old enough to be responsible for his actions! He's already going to be in the 11th grade and people of that age are already mature. Hell, I was only in grade 6 when I already started thinking of my future.

I sometimes think if he was bottle fed when he was still below one year old that is why he is intellectually and psychologically retarded. He had a choice to drink and smoke and do all those stupid things that he does, he should be sensible enough to get his act together before it's too late. I hope that I won't get a son like him in the future who is so irresponsible and darn selfish.

Breakfast in Bed in Paris

I was watching the Amazing Race a while ago and the last three competitors of the race were in Paris, France. I haven't been to Paris before (or Europe for that matter) but seeing Paris on TV was an amazing experience. Wonder how I would feel if I'd actually see the real Paris with both of my eyes. The buildings are incredibly beautiful and the atmosphere is very special indeed.

I plan to go visit Paris someday and the first thing that comes into my mind is where in the world would I stay in? Well I'm sure that that wouldn't be a big problem as Paris is a huge tourist attraction and therefore Paris hotels are quite abundant. In fact I've searched on the internet for hotels in Paris typing in "hotel Paris" and I sure did find a lot of hotel lists.

But I want to make my Paris experience more memorable and meaningful so I don't want to stay in those fancy hotels and just be one with the many tourist. I want to experience Paris by living like a Parisian. So I'd rather stay in a family-run Paris bed and breakfast. Not only will I get to be in the care of hospitable Paris hosts, I can get personal first hand tips for all the must-see places from people who actually have lived and experienced the wonder of Paris themselves! So I'll have a comfortable bed and an authentic French breakfast, how cool would that be!

So if you're interested in going to Paris and experience how life is in Paris check out Bedandbreakfastparis.biz and reserve your hotel now without any booking fees.

On Destroying Homes

I watched a Korean movie this noon entitled "Miracle on 1st Street" and I found the story heart warming. Miracle on 1st Street is a drama comedy about gangsters who trying to scare people to move out from their property so the can clear out the area to make way for corporate construction. Pil Je (Lim Chang Jung) is a gangster who tries to scare people in the neighborhood. But Myeong Ran (Ha Ji Won) isn’t scared with Pil Je. She fights back and gives Pil Je something to think about. But as he gets to know her and the locals more, Pil Je senses himself changing, changing enough for a miracle to happen? It is sweet how Pil Je stood up for the poor people and helped in defending the street kids and the people of the slum area from those who oppressed them. But sadly he was just one man so he couldn't save the whole town.

Watching this movie had made me realize how lucky I truly am for being financially stable. It's sad that there are so many people out there who are less fortunate and had to live in the slums. But living in the slums is not really that bad, what's worst is when they are forced out by rich people so that they could transform the land owned by the poor people to a financially viable and lucrative commercial land.

I know that it's just a movie that I know that there are some truth in how the rich would not hesitate to resort to violence just to claim the land that these poor people legally owned. The movie showed some violent scenes when they forced the poor out of their homes and the rich didn't even give them anything in return for the land (a sort of subsidy). But what really is a tear jerker is when the mothers and children cried as they were helpless to defend themselves as the thugs of the rich destroyed their homes and physically abused the poor.

That's What Real Friends Are

I was really touched by a simple gesture that a friend has made to me. She asked me if I wanted to join them this Friday after their duty to eat some dinner and hang out. So what's the big deal you ask me? Well, it's just that I'm currently not enrolled in summer classes meaning they are not my dutymates anymore. But even after all that I have said they still remember the snobbish little me.

I actually now know that they are truly my friends because some people only come to me when they need help with something or if they need something from me. It is quite rare for people to remember you just because you are a friend and that they miss you.

I'm already starting to miss my friends. It's really so sad being house-arrested. Well I can go out whenever I want but where would I go to? The pineapple field?! I don't have any friends here in our neighborhood because I studied at Cagayan de Oro City during high school so I don't hang out with the people here in my neighborhood.

Oh well, some of my friends are coming over this Friday so I'm really looking forward to it.

Anyone Have Spare Hands?

Boy my hands sure do hurt from all the hard work that I have done lately! I think that I might be having arthritis in my knuckle areas. I wonder if this is a result of all the years that I have made my knuckles make those cracking sounds. You know, the sounds that is created when you crack your knuckles? Boy it sure is hard to explain but you do understand that my knuckles hurt right?

But unfortunately my suffering don't end today. I still have a whole month to sort out my topsy-turvy house but then I'm having some visitors over this Friday so I have to finish cleaning and arranging our things by tomorrow. Oh well, I better sleep early today so that I could start working early tomorrow.

So What If Your House Is Bigger!

I was quite offended when a pineapple picker (that's her job) came to our house to check out the stuff that we're selling (garage sale) when she asked how come we have such a small house when my mom who had a high ranking position in Del Monte Philippines Inc. And she added, I'm just a Pineapple picker from the field and my house looks way better.

I was ready to be in battle mode and kill this ****! How dare she and she says that in our own home. Good thing my dad was there and threw our income statement to her face (figuratively of course) and showed her that we earn more than her freaking children who support her and that the only reason why we did not invest in the Philippines because my mom had planned to live in Canada a long time ago.

Why invest in a country that you would sooner leave right? The nerve of that woman trying to imply that she is well off and that we are cheap. 10 years from now I'm sure to come back her in the Philippines and I'll show her who's cheap!

But as my mom said, there's no need to prove anything. Awe, my mom is so kind and pro-peace. I hate it! hehehe. :) But that's right, so what if she's a pineapple picker who get to have a house larger than ours. That doesn't mean that we have to be ashamed. We're moving to Canada so what the hell do we care about our present home?

LA Police Gear

A while ago Juliana was blogging about the blogging police and I suddenly thought how I would look like if I were wearing that full police gear. Woah I bet that I would really look cool if I were one of those dashing uniforms.

One police gear that I find very awesome is the BDU Pants! They look so comfy and very durable too! It's a must for police officers and other military personal that needs durable and comfortable BDU pants while they hunt down all those bad guys!

The website that I found, lapolicegear.com not only has a vast collection of different colors of BDU pants, they also sell other police gears like boots, vests, eye wear, flashlights, and any other equipment police officers would need.

If you're interested in police gears you might want to check lapolicegear.com.
